Lady Warriors Win Volleyball Championship

Following an undefeated season, the Lady Warriors went up against the girls from Heritage - Maricopa (who had only one loss, to Trinity, on their season record) in the Division II Canyon Athletic Association (CAA) championship match at Arizona State University Wednesday night. There was terrific energy in the stadium as well over 100 Trinity fans took to the stands to cheer on the team. The championship match did not disappoint as each team competed fiercely for the title. Hannah West’s spike put away a very close first set. Building off the first set, The Lady Warriors rolled easily to claim set number two. With Trinity up 2-0, the ladies from Heritage dug deep to claim the third set. In the fourth, the Lady Warriors buckled down and led throughout to claim the first-ever Women’s CAA State Volleyball title for Trinity and Coach Chad Shelabarger. Senior, Hannah West, took home the Player of the Game award, and the game ball was given to Trinity’s Head Coach Shelabarger.

Final Set Scores: 27:25, 25:11,19:25, and 25:17.

On three different occasions, our Lady Warriors approached the referee to call a “touched ball” on themselves resulting in a point being conceded to the other team. A picture of integrity that played out many times during the regular season as well.

We praise God that He continues to utilize our Trinity sports programs to build Godly athletes and disciples who display Christ's love profoundly. Please join us in congratulating our coaches and athletes on their "dream 21-0 season" and their first-ever CAA state title in volleyball!
